anyway, internship has been alright, cleaning rooms ain't my fav thing to do but I'm surviving. Sleeping WAY earlier than before cause every night I just feel so tired and drained of energy. #suckitup
I really hope the next few months would be way better, since it's just the start of internship I'm sure it'll be fab! (fingers and toes crossed tho...)
had breakfast facing the Singapore river and it was so awesome cuz I've been dreading work and the view just cheered me up a little :-)
anyway, since I have absolutely nothing to do (joys of being free on a weekday. yay, not) I shall blog about my only week of freedom heh.
1) Amped Trampoline Park!
So I've chanced upon this instagram post about the park and I was extremely excited to visit just cuz I love jumping around without the floor shaking HAHAHA.
so kx and I woke up real early and we went to the trampoline park for a good workout HAHAHA. but we were too early so we strolled around and took photos!
finally decided that it was reasonably early to arrive and our first thought was: so small? we thought that it would be so big and spacious but it was about the size of a sports hall! but don't worry you wouldn't bump into anyone else LOL. plus we thought that jumping would be a breeze but OH GOD we were way too tired (okay wait kx was tired i was sweaty but fine) hehehe it felt so liberating jumping around I miss that feeling :-(
ps: make reservations online and also fill in your indemnity form before going if not you wouldn't be able to try out the facilities! OH AND DRESS SUPER COMFORTABLY
after the workout we had a shower and looked for food desperately cuz we were famished.
and after that.... we walked around aimlessly, travelled to JP and got real bored HAHAHA.
but oh well, sg's way too small.
camwhored in a neoprint machine and got funny stares from the arcade guy.
and we visited this outdoors park thing and it was kinda fun!
adventurers we were, hence we climbed this thing and we were so scared LOL. some brave kid showed us how wimpy we were by climbing up without any fear HAHAHA
2) Brunch adventures with girlfriends!
finally met xueying and jingwen hehehe after forever.
the day was insanely hot, but we still braved the heat for some yummy food!
Lola's Cafe
5 Simon Rd, 545893
6284 0349
the table was an old singer sewing machine, so old-school!
One thing bad about outdoors dining was that we were situated right next to the road and it was kinda annoying when cars drove past.
Croissantwich (think it was $13 or something haha)
croissant with egg mayo and a bit of ham (didn't taste this though, jingwen ordered it!) and she said it was real good but very filling
Truffle fries with grated parmesan cheese ($12)
tasted like regular fries I wouldn't wanna order it again.
Lola's full monty breakfast ($15)
ordered by xueying and it was pretty standard, didn't blow her away. Liked the sausage though!
Then we headed to play Wii at Cineleisure hehehe first timers so we sucked at setting up and the auntie wasn't the friendliest but hey, at least we finally got it started!
got chased out by the auntie but we manged to take some selcas with the best lighting possible (oh was the lighting horrible in there): in front of the TV hahaha!
we left really early (4++) to avoid the peak hours hahaha and we took a long bus ride to westmall! was still a little stuffed so we took some neoprints (OLDSCHOOL AGAIN HAHA) and camwhored in the machine for the best lighting.
strict faces LOL
it was a good day :-)
3) picnic/photoshoot @ Upper Seletar Reservoir (AKA: 13th monthsary!) ❤
we were supposed to compete to see who would prepare the best picnic food for each other and have our picnic at the reservoir BUT it was insanely hot on that day (hottest day of that crazy hot week) so we decided to have a cheat picnic right at home HAHAHA.
HIS
(i think he thinks I'm a health junkie or a bunny HAHAHA)
Mine:
obviously I won HAHAHA but I loved the food cuz he put in so much effort hehehe ❤
every monthsary is cake day so this month it's from:
Cake Spade
1 Tras Link , #01-06, Orchid Hotel Singapore
Singapore 078867
always wanted to try it so I was real pumped!
Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake & Spiced Carrot Cake ($5.90/slice)
I loved the cream cheese frosting on the carrot cake though was the color of the frosting right? hahaha and the strawberry tofu cheesecake was really light and I thought I was really eating tofu!
after our really filling lunch we headed out to the super secluded Upper Seletar Reservoir which was kinda troublesome to get to.
BUT the view was really pretty so no regrets! First discovered this gorgeous phototaking place from wedding blogs and I really wanted to visit!
it was way too hot to stay out so we hid in the viewing tower located right behind us! IT WAS SO WINDY UP THERE we sat there and chilled for an hour or so HAHAHA.
was gonna take a selfie and accidentally clicked so yeah
and so we tried so hard to take the perfect tumblr-worthy shots with an extremely small tripod and loads of running around HAHAH
❤❤❤
took a long time to head to Night Safari cause my mom had free tickets that my uncle bought for the family! it was expiring the next day so everyone made time to come!
while waiting for the others we had B&J ice cream, was horribly amused by a $17 hokkien mee (way too much really).
caught a fire show and it was insane I wanna be like them too!
finally the family reached and we were about to enter when only Yiling could enter. the rest of the tickets didn't work. and........... MY MOM HAD TICKETS FOR RIVER SAFARI BUT SHE DIDN'T CHECK AND MISTAKENLY THOUGHT IT WAS NIGHT SAFARI LOL.
my mummy is adorably blur and she was so apologetic but really, it wasn't like night safari was that amazing hehehe.
so yeah, we headed back home after that HAHAHA.
4) River Safari with the sweetheart!
so remember how the tickets were expiring the next day? we thought that it was really a waste to not use them so I tried to find someone to go with me and lucky me cause Huixin suddenly was free and we went together!
First time going out so early HAHAHA achievement unlocked since we are always late!
so........ animal photos leggo:
so........ animal photos leggo:
ps: the river safari brought back so many memories cuz I went there (and the zoo) with kx for our first date EVER and it was so adorably awkward!!!
we looked horrible but whatever STILL SWEET OKAY.
anyway, back to animals:
OHOHOH BUT I WENT TO MY FAV PANDA EXHIBIT AND LOOK AT THE QTPIE: RED PANDAS
❤❤
❤❤
touched the hedgehog and it suddenly spiked up and gave me a scare HAHAHA
panda pao!
little squirrel monkeys at this walk-in exhibit and they jumped all around SO CUTE BUT HEART ATTACK INDUCING HAHAHA.
back to pandas now we finally saw kaikai
so chill, eating and sunbathing HAHAHA
so you have to pay $5 for this ride, and at first we were so excited we thought it'll be like a rollercoaster ride (okay maybe only I thought so) BUT in the beginning we had a sudden slope fall and that was AWESOME. after that it was boring ttm.
one of the smaller slopes!
the animals were all missing from the exhibits (MEH) mybe cuz it was way too hot so we got super excited to see even a single animal HAHAHA
the ride ended and we were kinda disappointed but oh well!
OH the ride had a default! we were supposed to go for the 1130 slot but everyone was turned away and told to return at 1pm cuz the ride couldn't work! we went back at 12++ and surprisingly it was working....... luckily we checked.
this otter was so gracefully adorable
sea dugongs! One was so damn fat he look like an exploding ball of fats HAHHA
A PEACOCK ON THE TREE PEACOCKS CAN FLY?!?
and we left the River Safari! so glad to have spent the morning with my pineapple hehehe ❤❤❤ we chatted about everything including GRAD TRIP I was asking her whether she wanted to go to Thailand of something but it's all TBC!
took the bus to Upper Thomson for lunch since we were STARVING.
Habitat Coffee
233 Upper Thomson Rd, 574355
The first time I visited it was full and we didn't get to try the food! this time it was rather crowded but we got the sofa seats!
Iced Chocolate ($5.90)
surprisingly good, not too sweet and milk lovers would love it!
Lemon-up ($4.50)
a combination of ice lemon tea and 7-up! refreshing but not my cup of tea (pun not really intended)
The Strooms (vegetarian) ($12) with additional sausage ($2)
this was really not bd, the hollandise sauce was a little too buttery for my taste but the eggs were runny (not super runny tho) and the sausage was awesome!
oh but the bread was a little soggy after a while :-(
oh but the bread was a little soggy after a while :-(
Cheesynara ($16)
Huixin said it tasted alright but we felt that it was definitely not worth the money!
we were absolutely tired after the river safari trip so we look horrible but it was a wonderful day out with her, we've known each other since we were partners for D&T class in sec 1 and I used to fear her (she had a real scary poker face) but we became really close as the years went by and 4 years of being classmates/index number buddies (im always in front of her hahaha) really made me cherish her as one of my best friends ❤
walked around for a bit and we took a really hot 985 home HAHAHA.
5) family day out!
we have planned this picnic for a while but things were kinda tense cuz dad was being so annoying and the family was kinda unhappy. But so glad that things became way better when we arrived hehehe it has been ages since we had a picnic!
we flew kites and failed miserably (okay I succeeded for a bit and so did my dad, but kx, my sister and her bf are absolutely lousy at it HAHA)
was gonna head to Haw Par Villa but didn't have time so we went to Suntec instead cuz mummy wanted to visit Mega Flea which was really boring and I knew since I went last year.
after sis' bf left we tried pool instead and mummy and I learnt a bit. I was lousy but my mom did way better lol
rushed to DTF cuz the queues would be insane if we were any later (the queues were still long but luckily long-legged kx and I rushed there and we were seated in 25 mins!
best way to end hols before internship with loved ones ❤
